Though just between ourselves, I’m currently looking at Alfred, a big rival to Launchbar and it has a lot going for it. Hands On: LaunchBar 6 (OS X) – William Gallagher, MacNN (15 January 2015) Maybe I’ll just turn off the app-launching feature and go back to Quicksilver for that, leaving LaunchBar running only as a very expensive (but good) clipboard-history tool. With a couple of keystrokes you can be entering an event into your calendar, you can be sending files to someone, you can be pasting something from the clipboard that you copied yesterday. But I’ve tried other clipboard-history apps (all of which cost far less than LaunchBar’s 35 price), and I like LaunchBar’s implementation best by far. Sure, both let you tap a couple of keys and begin typing things like application names or search terms, but as excellent as Spotlight is, LaunchBar crams more power into the same space. There are alternatives, that’s about the only thing that should give you pause, but the most obvious rival to LaunchBar is OS X’s own Spotlight and that is no competition at all. What you see there is how the software Alfred 2 displays its clipboard manager: you get very much the same thing in LaunchBar 6, the other app I was reviewing that has this. I’m hoping there’s nothing private in there.

On my previous device, the onscreen keyboard had a 'clipboard' which would house all the recent texts/photos that you copied & pasted. I'm not sure how they limit the free version now, but back before I bought it they let you do five types of activities per login, so you could do the copy, paste, and clipboard history deletion freely without running into the limit Is this feature included with iPhone I can't seem to find a button for the clipboard ('copy' history) anywhere. I do not use it because I've found Launchbar to be more useful, but it looks like Alfred includes clipboard history in the unlimited free version.īased on the screenshot it looks like Alfred uses shortcuts closer to what you wanted.
